Francis, Emer and I woke very early this morning to go on a boat trip along the Ganges River. There are 5 categories of people who don’t get burnt because they are holy and pure they are: Pregnant woman, children, people with small pox and leprosy and a very random one death by snake bite, these people are thrown straight into the river tied to boulders and rocks.

On the boat trip we saw several dead bodies floating about that had come loose from their ropes at the bottom of the river, some where washed ashore on the opposite side of the river where stray dogs were eating the flesh… yummy!

I again just chilled in the afternoon at the hotel and then joined Emer to the daily celebration at the main Ghat, we got some dinner and decided to get a special Lassi that one of the ingredients was made from a type of hash. It tasted ok but we didn’t know how strong it was so we went halves. It apparently takes an hour for the effects to hit but we were just a little stoned whilst watching super troopers, the stuff just put us to sleep.

But I suppose we were very tired after getting up so early for the boat ride.

Breakfast anyone?
